As we enter Pride Month, a time for self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, we are reminded that deep-rooted implicit biases and inequities that exist in our society and organizations impact communities of color more than others. These long-lasting impacts create other injustices, like a domino effect.

These trying times call for a tighter bond between us. In moments of grief, sadness, and anguish, we need each other more than ever. We need to strengthen our sense of community and help one another. As an organization, and as individuals, we strive for a community where everyone is treated with respect, feels safe, and has the freedom to be their best possible self – especially those who have been marginalized for far too long.

Each one of us play a role in moving toward a more equitable society. Whether we’re an elected official, a policy maker, a community organizer, or a philanthropist, our voice and our actions matter. By speaking up, embedding equity in our own actions and our organization’s every action, volunteering and donating to causes, we become an integral part of this movement. Your power, your voice, and most importantly, your visibility is indispensable.
